I think it was in a chatroom somewhere ( hmm can't possibly think where ) and I was told "your really nice you are"

I got quite a good one last night. Something about my eyes

When someone said to me "I only come to school to see you" and didn't laugh

Being proposed to was pretty much the biggest compliment I ever got

Being told i i was doing a good job of parenting Joel who at that time was going through a very awkward autistic phase in his life, driving me and his dad to distraction.... and also when Hannah first came home from hospital and she was soooo teeny and the health visitor couldn't believe how calm and confident i was considering all she'd been through

Oh, and at the T-Party, and afterwards, i was paid a very nice compliment by two people.... won't tell you exactly what was said, but....

I've been told my better half, that I have "Inner Beauty". That is that he thinks I'm pretty but also beautiful on the inside, which was kinda sweet

A lot of people call me a star, so I must be doing something right

enough now - coz I'm embarrassing myself (and him if he reads this!!)

Another one who's going with being proposed to - you can't really get much more complimentary than someone saying they want to spend the rest of their life with you, can you?

I can't pick one compliment out from any others that I've had. But, like Spikeo said, when it's from someone close to you, they are always nice and always lift me and make me smile.

And also, when it's unexpected, that makes it better too.

Umm... something *nice* and true

The best compliments are the ones that are obviously individual and believable. It doesn't have to be over the top, and they're more likely to take it well if it isn't.

well i tried the nice eyes thing and sexy voice they sorta worked and i'm painting a pic of her, but i really need something very original that will sweep her off her feet

Spike The best compliment a man has ever paid me was listeing to what I say and not interrupting even when he was bored stiff and then having the nouse to ask me questions about how I felt about the problem I was explaining. Yeah, looks and personality are great to be complimented on but when someone actually gives you freely of their time - well, that's sincere and irreplaceable

But, the best compliment I have ever been paid was by my current manager who told me last week that my managerial team and colleagues were impressed with the amount of enthusiasm and commitment I had shown to the job in such a short space of time and how well I had integrated into the teaching team which kinda made me feel like ... wow! I'm doing okay because after working for a manager who never praised staff or told them they did a good job this was kind of like a whole new meaning to job satisfaction for me
