Battle of the Geeks
I doubt many of you will have seen this last Sunday on BBC 2 at around 8:00pm as it isn't everyones cup of tea I'm sure but oh my god did I enjoy Battle of the Geeks! (no surprise there for many of you I guess....) Basically it is a 21st Century version of The Great Egg Race which features two teams of British and American inventors and scientists face off in a unique challenge and all the with Richard Hammond as presentor.
The aim of the game is that the two teams have 48 hours to design, build and fly their own craft across the mighty Fish River Canyon in Namibia and land their fragile cargo (an egg) as close as possible to a designated target in the canyon. Although the format of the show has been done so many times over this was so much better than all those latest incarnations of the scrapheap challenge aired on Discovery Channel. Just ashame it seems to be a one off show as I but who know maybe next year they're back with another challenge.
Overall definately worth the watch so if you haven't seen it yet and you like scrapheap either catch them on the rerun (no clue when but I'm sure they'll rerun it at some point) or get your hands on it otherwise
