Themepark Trip - Nov 2nd
As has been suggested in the Sept Nos thread, people seem to be wanting a Theme Park trip in october.
Here's what materialised there:
Place: Thorpe Park
Date: Sunday 2nd Nov
Time: Noon at the main gates
Any other preferences, thoughts or theories on the meaning of life & names of joiners are welcome here.

In the absence of Jola who's working there, it also clashes with LondonExpo - but I'm starting to think there's no scifi geeks on here anymore
If I'm doin School Disco till gawd knows what time there's no chance of me for this the next day... Can't we re-arrange the date?
it might do better to change the date as everyone attending School Disco are planning to party hard ... could you stomach the rides with a hangover? I'd be up for this. I see no one has put up Thorpe Park as an option is it a bad place?
I LOL when i saw the thread heheheheee.

I'd suggest two weeks after that..the 2nd of November..in between Nos's which gives people a chance to get money together. It's the last day that the park is open though so *could* be busy...also might mean some sort of cheap tickets/give-aways/promotions??
Let's get a date chosen now and then we can sort out who's going..I'd be up for it

2nd of Nov is a *bit* better for me. I'm at Bowling For Soup the night before but getting home and back the next day won't be too much of a problem.
2nd is a bit better for me too. Still working that weekend, means I gotta carry the mobile and a notepad and pen with me (If I don't get dragged into the office for when it gets busy...) Should find out in the next few days..
I deliberately didn't put a definate date because I knew something like non-availability would happen.
Anyhoo, the 2nd Nov is cool by me

Count me in.
I'd rather have done it after Nos, but as you lot all get hangovers (hardy hardy har! ) I'll go for the 2nd (provisionally)
Is this definately Chessington or does Thorpe Park stand a chance?

If enough people want Thorpe Park then we'll do Thorpe Park.
It's all down to how many people you can beat into submission...uh...I mean win over with a smile!

Well I can't remember which I preferred *dizzy*
I don't remember going on that many rides at Chessington, but the photo we did was cool (and I'd want to do it again ).
I remember doing more rides at Thorpe Park though...

Hmm. Well, Sunday the 2nd of November I'm working a day shift and I have no hols left, so it doesn't look like I can make this. Especially as October is looking pretty busy right now (have I mentioned I'm off to Antigua? ). So unless Thorpe Park is open for a couple of weeks after Chessington it looks like I'll have to miss out yet again this year.
So, although my opinion on this is a little mute, I have to say that Thorpe Park poops on Chessington from a great height, and that you'd all be better off heading there.
Now, where's my back hander from TP for the promo?

Personally, Thorpe Park gets the nod from me too. I can also get the bus there from mine for about a quid And it also helps I live about 5 minutes from the bus stop So TP gets my vote...
Personally I'd rather do Chessington as I've never been there where as I've already been to Thorpe Park twice in the last few months alone. But I know I'll have fun wherever, so I'm not really that fussed.
But yeah, count me in. 2nd of November or whenever sounds cool. I think everybody's right except me, so just forget I spoke.

After missing out on Alton Towers I'll definitely be there!! Any time any place!
Although I am a total wuss when it comes to heights...

I dont think i've been to thorpe park since i was at primary school (sometime during the school years anyway) and found chessington a tad boring (maybe coz i was stuck with my sister and her boy) i think i had the most fun in the dennis the menace place and you needed a kid to go in there!? and I'm sure all theme parks do the photo opportunity (i wanna be a saloon wh**e!) so I'm a-rootin' for TP.
Okay we have a confirmed date of November 2nd...
The Thorpe Park Vs Chessington debate now rages...
Both have their final days on 2nd November
Thorpe Park is open 12pm - 11pm while Chessington is 10am - 7.30pm
Chessington was good last year and you have the chance to once again experience Vampire, Samurai, Rameses Revenge and of course the girls fave ride(well Scary Emily's at least ) The Runaway Train.
Thorpe Park has 2 new rides in Nemesis Inferno & Quantum as well as Colossus, Tidal Wave, Detonator, X:\ No Way Out & Vortex.
I've never been to Thorpe Park but frankly I'm open to either...can we get a mini poll going and we'll decide by Sunday night??
