I had already looked at availablity on the Ibis website for that hotel and the one a short walk away, and they reckon they have zip left on that date .....

Rocky Horror Meet - Birmingham, Saturday April 5th
Calling all sweet Transvestites from Transexual in Transylvania, wandering lovers and unconventional conventionalists...
On Saturday the 5th of April next year, at the Birmingham Hippodrome, there will be a performance of the Rocky Horror Show, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the stage show.
And I think T21 should be there.
So, sign up below. Once we have an idea of numbers I'll place a group booking for us. And as others have pointed out in the previous thread, speed is probably of the essence here, as tickets are likely to sell out.
Also, if anyone wants to help with finding a suitable hotel for crashing in, I'd be much obliged.

So, I recommend we go for the £14.50 seats, and will make an order for these in just over a weeks time. So, as well as posting here, can people please email me at Jayjay@Jayjay.org.uk to confirm they want to be included in the group booking. I will buy a group set of tickets based on emails recieved by noon on Monday 25th of November. People can be added after that, but I won't be able to guarantee that we'll be able to sit together.</edit>

Yes, I know. I am crap. Ibis only has rooms for the Friday night, and a couple of others I've tried can't take a booking for a group our size.
Anyone have any suggestions for other hotels we can try?
I do appologize for my lateness on this. A mixture of seeming to be ill for over a month, general other hassles going on and my general ineptitude. Any help in sorting this out would be much appreciated.

I know it's a bit further away, but there are lots of hotels along Hagley Road, which carries on from Broad Street, which as some of you may be aware has loads of pubs & clubs for post show partying.
My particular preference will be to wander up to The Gallows, a rock pub just off John Bright Street, and then later tootling up to XL's, a rock club at Five Ways where my fella dj's. The club costs about £5 to get in, has three rooms: main room has mainstream rock stuff, one smaller room with indie stuff and one other room with classic rock, aor, glam, sleaze, little bit of older goth. The smaller rooms are open til 3am, the main room til 4, there is a taxi point right outside and a semi decent chippy that is usually open at kicking out time.

Nah, tried that as well and they have no room.

However, they are looking for me now and are confident of finding us somewhere. The woman I spoke to advised she had already made a group booking for someone else that weekend for 30 rooms, but so far they'd only taken 5, so we could probably get in there. More info as I get it.
However, what I really need to make things easier is a list of who wants a room, what nights, and who wants to share with whom, or who wants a room to themselves. Asap, please.

Well, that's five down, fifteen to go.
TIC have called back and they have rooms at a hotel put aside for us. However, I need to send a deposit tomorrow, so I need to know asap who wants a room, what type and what nights. Below are the details of the hotel:
The Grove Hotel
409 Hagley Road
Edgebaston
Birmingham
B17 8BL
Rooms work out at about £25 per person per night for Twins, Doubles and Triples. Singles are £35 per night. All rooms are en suite and come with breakfast, if you're the type that gets up that early.
I'm assured this is near the Hippodrome, and is on the road Red Witch recommended (so plenty of rock bar/clubs).

Well as far as I know, RW & her 3 pals are staying at someone's house (RW correct me if I'm wrong!!)
I might be crashing at a mate's in Brum too, but it will depend on how much hotel cash I can rally together.
